When my boyfriend & I set out on this adventure of Zelda, we decided we would do the ENTIRE outfit, that's right. Chainmail and all my friends :) Here's what we've done so far!

Ive wanted to make chainmail for a while now, but not sure where to start. Do you make your own rings or do you buy them?

you can do it either way; I have done it both ways but if you are crunched for time you can buy pre-sliced rings from practically anywhere online, thus saving yourself from doing the wrapping of the wire. I have some videos I found on youtube that mgiht help if you want them :)

That sounds good, I will look for the presliced rings as I don't know how to wrap the wire. The videos would be great if its not too much trouble! Thanks alot for your help!

Do you remember what size the rings were? They look fairly small, like 5mm ID or something.

I believe it was 8mm, and yes we wanted the smaller look because we believed it looked more epic in pictures to have more texture/detail with the smaller size. Thanks for noticing though, always nice to meet another chainmail enthusiast!!

Ah ok, it does look more epic indeed.
Yeah, I'm in the process of making a Link cosplay myself so I'm trying to find out what kind of rings will look the best for the chainmail (might resort to making my own). At the moment though the only thing I have for the entire cosplay is my Ocarina D:
